What kind of photographer are you? Where will my session be held?
I offer artistic, lifestyle kids and family photography, specializing in on-location, natural light portraiture. I offer a limited amount of outdoor, evening sessions per month and I prefer those golden hours before sunset.
Our area is full of amazing locations. There is so much natural beauty around us that you almost can’t go wrong. Yet, when selecting a location try to find a spot that isn’t cluttered and your family enjoys. I can help you along with this decision.
What is your style?
I would describe my style as a mixture of two completely opposite approaches, lifestyle and fine art. How so? I use lifestyle approach allowing me to capture naturally looking portraits without over posing my subject(s), which combined with scrupulous photo editing result in fine art looking photos that you will be proud to hang on your wall. A lot of my clients have the photos from our session hung on their walls at home or in the office.
How long will my session be?
Our Mini sessions usually take around thirty minutes. Our Standard and Premium sessions are about sixty to ninety minutes long (depending on the weather and the kids). If we are shooting outdoors we will shoot either in the morning or in the evening. The light is typically too harsh mid day. If your children are up for it, shooting one to 1.5 hours before sunset provides gorgeous light and atmosphere.
What will my session be like?
My approach to photographing your kids or family is simple, warm and down-to-earth. My goal is to connect, have fun and put everyone at ease. It all begins by meeting at a home or beautiful location outdoors in the late afternoon. Next, rather than a posed performance, my family photo shoots are more like an enjoyable walk. While walking, talking, laughing and smiling, I strive to craft and capture natural and beautiful moments that reflect your family in a genuine way. My biggest hope is that the photographs will become timeless treasures that fill your heart with joy.
What should I wear?
Ideally, it’s best to wear something that is comfortable and makes you feel good. Stay away from clothing with logos or loud colors. And of course watch out for outfits that might clash. Rather than match perfectly, think of having everyone wear something that goes together in a natural, yet not overly obvious way. I’ve found that typically solid neutral colors work best. But most importantly wear something that authentically reflects who you are.
What Methods of Payment Do You Accept?
Payment is accepted via Cash, Check, Credit Card, Venmo and Paypal (Paypal address is email@example.com). Paypal fees to be covered by the client. Venmo and PayPal are the preferred ways of payment.
Will I get the digital photos from my session? How can I order prints and products from you?
You will receive a number of high resolution, artistically edited and retouched digital image files in your private online gallery where you will be able to download those images. I will use my creative eye to pick the images which best capture the spirit and heart of the family and/or subject. Sessions do not include prints, but prints can be ordered using the high resolution digital image files, directly from your gallery, or your own professional grade print vendor.
Can I Change Outfits During Our Session?
You can always switch things up but keep in mind that this eats up the allotted time we have for the session. It’s best to dress in a layered option if you want different looks. Bring accessories and layering pieces that are quick and easy.
What is the Turnaround Time Following Our Session?
My typical turnaround time is anywhere from 3-4 weeks.
What if I Need to Cancel?
If you need to cancel or reschedule I require 24 hours notification prior to our session. Please let me know as soon as possible if you need to make a change and I will do my best to accommodate you for a future date available.
What is the initial deposit for?
The initial deposit is a creative fee for my time and talent as your photographer. This fee is collected up front in the form of a retainer and is required to complete your booking and secure your selected session date. Deposit for your session is due no later than seven days after receiving your contract & if the deposit is not received in this time frame, your session date will be removed from my calendar since I refuse other sessions for that date and time. Thank you for understanding with this. Payment is due in full a day before your session.
How can I get $100 discount? What is Photography Stock?
Stock photography is the supply of photographs, which are often licensed for specific uses.
This means that if you agree and sign the model release(s) some of the photos from your session may (or may not) be submitted to photo stocks where they may potentially be licensed for commercial use such as publications, advertisement, illustrations etc.
Photography stocks require signed model release for each person included in the photo. Model release must be signed separately from the photography contract.
With signed model release(s) you get $100 discount regardless if your photos have or have not been submitted to photo stocks.
